Maintenance

  • Job Summary: Performs a variety of work in the maintenance repair, and troubleshooting of equipment, buildings and grounds at agency occupied facilities/sites including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and painting tasks; repairs and treats structures such as floors, showers, sinks, walls, roofs, and carpets; changes filters on heating, ventilating and air conditioning units; reports equipment and appliance malfunctions to appropriate party for action; moves and assists in moving furniture and equipment at various facilities/sites; exercises discretion in identifying projects requiring the services of a higher skilled crafts person; assists in obtaining quotes and arranging for services of outside vendors as needed; maintains up-to-date work logs for specific site requirements; activates and deactivates building alarms and responds to alarm calls during and after regular work hours; maintains clean, safe, and orderly work sites, clearing snow, using standard lawn, garden, and snow removal equipment.  
  • Qualifications: Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described including related work experience in one or more of the building trades. Knowledge of methods used in maintenance including basic knowledge of the following trades: carpentry, plumbing, glass replacement, painting, electrical, grounds keeping; standard practices and tools used in the maintenance and repair of building facilities; safety practices and procedures related to the building trades; basic math to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Skill and ability to effectively use a variety of hand and power tools; follow oral and/or written instructions; communicate effectively in both oral and written form; maintain work logs; establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work assignments. Valid Ohio driver’s license, must be able to pass a pre-employment physical, including TB test and drug test. Certain felony convictions will disqualify applicants from consideration.

Home Visitor

  • Job Summary:  The Home Visitor is responsible for recruitment, enrollment, planning and implementing all Early Head Start component areas and making weekly visits to the children’s homes. Coordinates services with parents and prescribes individually planned activities for parents to work with their children.  Working collaboratively with component Coordinators, the Home Visitor ensures home visits and group experiences meet applicable Performance Standards. Attends and participates in staff meetings and agency in-services.  Participates in agency recruitment activities and special events. Develops and maintains an active waiting list for enrollment.
  • Qualifications:  Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or related field or CDA is required. Must have good interpersonal and communication skills. Must have computer proficiency, and have a work history characterized by dependability, reliability, and initiative. Must have a valid driver’s license and personal  transportation.

Lead Teacher

  • Job Summary: Responsible to the Site Administrator. The Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing center activities for toddler or preschool children to ensure the program meets Head Start Performance Standards and State Licensing requirements.  The Teacher will assist with classroom set up, maintain children’s files, and oversee daily operations in the classroom.  
  • Qualifications: Minimum Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education is required. Minimum two years’ experience required. Must be computer literate and have good oral and written computer skills.  Must be able to work well in a collaborative environment, and relate positively with staff, parents, and the community.
